You can send emails to different user groups and also make announcements to these groups on their home pages. If students clock in and out regularly, they will see your messages quite regularly. Other groups, such as clinical supervisors or faculty, may or may not view these messages as often.
So - which method of communication is the best, announcements on the web site, or emails? It depends! Just be aware of the difference between an email (which is "pushed" to the reader) and an announcement (which waits quietly on your site to be read!).
