Comp Types

Using a "Comp Type" is a way to associate multiple exam item sets with a single procedure. So, if a program has a Lab, General, Recheck and Final comp for Abdomen, the evaluator will have the option of selecting whichever type is needed before moving to the exam items page. Comp types are filterable from Reports-->Comp Exams/Validation also, making it possible to filter only on Lab or Final comps, then generate an average for only that comp type set. From this point on, you must have assigned at least one comp type to all comps, or they can't be used.

To enable Comp Types, go to Settings-->Global-->check "Require comp exam type selection" and save. Note that competencies previously submitted will be retained with no comp type setting and can be filtered on no type from the Comp Exam/Validation page.

After turning this feature on, visit Procedures-->Exam Items and select and major study and procedures. Click the Edit icon above the Comp Type column and name the types desired. Individual items can then be created and associated with a specific type, then viewed as a comp type group by setting the Group dropdown box. If exam items sets are the same, select all items at once using the checkbox at far left in the green column header area, then choose "Clone Selected." Pick the Major Study and Comp Type desired, then select the hyperlink "Pick Multiple Skills." Select the ones to be copied to. Be careful not to select any that have already been copied to or there will be multiple identical items in the procedure.
