Allowing and Restricting Page Access

As the administrator, you may grant or deny access to many pages or reports. Some programs, for instance, wish to restrict the role of Site employees to that of approving time records while permitting clinical instructors (also known as supervisors) broader access to complete student evaluations and competencies. In that case, go to Communication/Sharing-->Page Titles/Text and select the edit icon for the page you wish to restrict access to (not the one displayed at right). You can decide what the menu text should say, what order it should appear in the menu, and most importantly, who can see this menu item.

In the case of restricting access to only the Approve Time Records page, you would select the page's edit icon, then change the access to Site-based Employee through Supervisor. In the same way, you could allow your faculty access to more or fewer pages and reports at a clinical site - even the ability to allow the faculty to log in to a clinical site at all (change menu item "CS Login" to allow access of coordinator and above).

You should always test your settings after changing them to confirm that you've made the correct changes. To do so, you can use a test student login if you're testing student settings, or you may change the test student's status from student to whatever other role you are adjusting the display for. Go to Users in the Admin Panel and click the edit icon to reset the student role temporarily.

Below are the most common changes for page access. Access is reset by clicking the edit icon on the right of a page's row, then clicking the dropdown boxes marked "Access" and saving.
