Creating New Evaluations

Created by Mario Rodriguez, Modified on Sat, 28 Feb at 4:26 AM by Mario Rodriguez

After you've read the New Evaluations Overview and perhaps watched the Scoring and Creating/Editing Evaluations videos - let's go through how to build or edit an evaluation or form.

In our new enhanced system, you can create almost any type of form or assessment easily. Follow this series of steps:

  • Go to "Eval/Form Setup"-->Templates and click the Add New (or paper and pencil edit) icon or button.
  • Create at least one "Score Type" for the evaluation.
  • Create at least one "Category" for the evaluation.
  • Create "Items" for the evaluation. You can also create "Text fields" items.
  • Rearrange any items that you've added if necessary.

Test the evaluation using a "Test Student" log in or the "CS log in" on the home page.
View the Report created from your test.

A number of settings have been created to optimize reporting and data collection. One of the newest, not yet documented in the video linked above, is the ability to track viewings of
submitted evaluations and forms by the subject. Viewed dates are available on Reports-->Evals and Forms: Completed for faculty. More information for all users is on the Documenting View Dates page and on the Completed Evaluations help page.
